8,000 tax rebate for new home buyers include married couples?
I bought a house before I met my wife and now we are married and we filed taxes together this past year. Does that mean she qualifies for the 8 grand rebate?
No
In order to qualify, you must actually make a purchase during the established time period, and ALL parties on the purchase must be first time buyers.
You don't get $8,000 of free money just because you added your wife's name to your tax return and you happen to already own a house.
